FLY Guides

FLY Guides are a pool of adults and college age students in our congregation who are willing to go on an occasional trip or come to the church for a youth gathering.  Guides work with 7th through 12th grade students.  Guides will choose which age group and activity or event in which they what to be involved.  FLY Guides should complete the S.A.F.E. program material, be willing to lose sleep and have a compassion for Christ that feeds a willingness to listen to and talk to young people.

We are NOT looking for baby-sitters!  Youth ministry is about the business of growing disciples for Christ.  We are looking for adults that are willing to listen, stand with, play with and maybe, at the right times, challenge the youth of the congregation.

How to help!  Periodic mailings will invite registered FLY Guides to pick and chose up-coming events in which to help. We must have a minimum of two-deep leadership at each gathering of youth.  The more adults the better.  If we can continue to build a great enough pool of adults that are willing to help, then each adult will not be overwhelmed with activity after activity.

Contact Pastor Paul at paul.judson@firstluth.org if you would like to know more or volunteer to be a FLY Guide.
